Chattanooga - Day 3

We arrived in Chattanooga last night and we were impressed by our hotel, which used to be the main train station here.
It has kept many of the features of the train station including several carriages on the original tracks. The carriages are now used as guests rooms and they look ok but comes with a price tag of 195 dollars per night.
It was agreed that we would not swop our hotel room for a carriage especially as we are all on the ground floor and we have patio doors which is great for getting air into ouir rooms instead of relying on the air conditioning units.
Today has been very hot and Kenny bought a new hat to give him some shade. After breakfast we set off into town to have a look around and found a quaint English tea shop . We decided we would enjoy a good cup of tea and some small sandwiches on the way back.
Everyone has had a great time here and tomorrow we will leave Chattanooga and head for Nashville.

Day 2 - Atlanta ( Sept 14)

Our coach arrived promptly at 09.00 this morning and we set off for a visit into Atlanta City to see the sights  before stopping at our first tour in the Cyclorama Museum. The museum houses all memorabilia of the Civil War over 150 years ago between the North and South. The museum was fascinating and we had a great time.
We then moved on to the Martin Luther King Museum, again this is a brilliant place to visit and our small group found it interesting to say the least. There is a lot to see and take in and to be actually visiting the Church where Martin Luther preached in his early days, how the historic civil rights movement was founded was brilliant. We also saw his final resting place.
Both these tours are well worth seeing!!!!!!!!!
Then it was off for some lunch at the CNN building. A fab day!!!!
We are now leaving Atlanta and heading for Chattanooga. More pics tomorrow

Our tour of the Deep South - USA

We had a brilliant flight with Delta Airways, the staff are friendly and helpful. We boarding our flight at 09.00 and  landed at 14.30 USA time and  we were well fed and water throughout the journey.
We are 5 hours behind the UK. The transfers were well planned and we reached our hotel 30 minutes later.
The weather is beautiful and we still had plenty of daylight hours left to enjoy some of the sights in Atlanta like the Cennital Olympic park it was good fun. .
We tried out the local waffel house where we all had a light supper before heading back to the hotel for a quick shower and have a reasonably early night. We have an early start in the morning after breakfast we are heading to Chattanooga. Please see our facebook page and like us!!!!!!! if you have not done so already.
