Sun Studios - Graceland and more

Had a brilliant day today but very busy as our day started at 6am. Up showered breakfast and on the coach for 8 o'clock.
Our first visit was to see the house Elvis first bought just after he started to make some money.
Our second visit was to the Sun Studios where Elvis made his first recording"that's all right Mama" brilliant place very small but we were able to see everything regarding the studio. Had some fun here testing out the "mike" and having a singalong.
Now we are all really excited as we are heading for Graceland!!!!!! Yippee.
The mansion is magnificent although not as big as one would expect, until you go in and explore the rooms.
There is also a lot of land attached to the place out back and in front.
When Elvis first moved here the surroundings were very different as no other buildings were in close proximity. Now it has quite a lot and is very built up with small homes, shops, and other businesses. Elvis gained a lot of respect for never leaving Memphis.
We saw the many cars in his collection and other "toys" along with the two planes which we were able to go on and have a good look around.
Fabulous day but quite rushed to see everything as it is truly a once in a lifetime experience!!!!!!!!
This evening we ventured out to Downtown Memphis in style.... yes a carriage don't ask which one of us was Cinderella. It was good and Kenny was happy with his birthday surprise.........
We then headed to Beale Street which was buzzing with music, entertainers, lots of eating places must say it "ROCKS" great night out!!!!!
Tomorrow we are heading to Tupelo.

Day 6 - Visit to Jackson and arrival in Memphis!!!!!

We arrived in Jackson Tennessee which is a small town made famous by Casey Jones the railway worker.
It is quaint and very busy, we had a buffet lunch and drinks. The food was delicious and plenty of choices. Everyone had at least 3 courses which pleased our guests.
From here we went over the Mississippi river to get a feel of the river!!!!. We stopped to look at the hotel where Martin Luther King was shot which is called the Lorraine Motel that closed on the day he died and has never reopened. Here we also met a lady called Jackie who's protest is well known and has now been active  for almost 27 years. We called at the visitors centre which is informative and has statues of Elvis and BB King. A lot of famous people came from Memphis such names as Sybil Shepherd, Kathy Bates, John Daly the golf player. Leaving this area of Memphis we did a quick tour of our location around by the hotel which is The Double Tree by Hilton and the main areas such as Beale Street etc
We are very excited to be here and will be going out to check out the sights later!!!!!!
Tomorrow we visit the Sun Studios and Graceland!!!!!!!!! look out for more pics.
